To get to know the author, Alina better, we asked her a quick round of questions, and here are her answers:
Q1: What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
A: Reclaimed Love – I had two characters screaming in my head about this small town in Idaho that I used to live in when I was younger. Kate and Arik wouldn’t rest until I told their story.
Q2: What are five words that describe your writing process?
A: Dedicated, Disciplined, Diligent, Consistent and Chaotic.
Q3: What authors, or books, have influenced you?
A: Oh, man! There are so many. I’m a diehard Nora Roberts fan and have devoured everything she’s ever said on being an author. The indie greats like Lucy Score, Claire Kinglsey, Pippa Grant, Willow Winters, Maria Luis and so many more. They put in the work every single day and I aspire to structure my love of writing into a career like they have when I sit down at my computer.
Q4: What is the first book to make you cry?
A: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I was not okay after the Tri-Wizard Tournament and me at the tender age of 14, just wanted to be part of that world so hard.
Q5: Is writing your full-time career? Or would you like it to be?
A: Writing is my full-time career, I’m hoping to grow it into a business that my spouse eventually helps me manage, but for now, I take care of our kiddos and write all the happiness onto the page.
Q6: What is the best advice you have ever heard?
A: I have two. The first one is from an old Nora Roberts blog post, and she said “Stop making excuse and write. Stop whining and write. Stope f*cking around and write.” The second one is from Becca Syme, and it’s “Question the premise.” In a world where there is so much information about publishing, the right way to do things we rarely stop to question if this is the right thing for us as authors and that really stuck with me.
Q7: What is your favourite genre to read?
A: Romance, Romance, and Romance! I’m an avid reader of all things Happily Ever After and have been reading the genre and its various sub genre’s since I was a teenager!
Q8: Do you have any writing quirks?
A: I don’t really think this is a quirk, but I get up around 3:00 AM every day to get my words in before my kiddos wake up for the day. I’ve been told it’s a little quirky, but it works for me.
Q9: What are you working on now?
A: Currently book 2 in my HeartFelt Series is with the editor, so I’m busting out all the words in book 3. These two follow Reclaimed Love as mentioned above.
Q10: What are you currently reading?
A: Currently I’m reading Thirsty Boy by Mae Harden and the next one up on my kindle is Lucy Score’s Riley Thorn and the Corpse in the Closet. I like to pepper new reads in with re-reads as this keeps me from staying up way too late!

Reclaimed Love (The HeartFelt Series Book 1)

Blurb:
Dear Arik,
With a pen pal like you, who needs enemies? It’s bad enough that you broke my heart twelve years ago, but you’re the one who won’t let it go.
I returned every letter, declined every call, deleted every email.
What I didn’t tell you was that I wanted to read every letter, almost answered every call, and have craved you ever since I left.
And now that I’m back, you’re hotter than ever and impossible to ignore because you’re literally helping me save Grams’ bookstore. I can’t help but ask myself…
Are you going to break my heart again?
Or the even bigger question…
Am I going to let you?
Sincerely,
Kate
