We asked Leila a quick round of Q&A’s, and here they are:

Q1: What’s your hidden talent?

A: I have extremely heightened senses. My sense of smell and hearing is above average. I once heard a baby crying when no one else in my office could. So, I went to investigate and looked out of the window, there was a driver filling up his car with petrol, and sure enough, there was a baby inside the car crying.

Q2: Do you have any new series planned?

A: Yes, Love in Lockdown Chronicles, coming early next year. Hoping for a rapid release. All three will be contemporary romances, steamy, with a HEA, and all set in England.

Q3: What are you reading now?

A: Midnight Sun, although it may take me a while to get through it. I had to pause reading The Song of David by Amy Harmon while I was getting ready to publish Hearts of War, so really need to get back to that one too. I have a lot on my TBR list to catch up on.

Q4: Favourite quote (doesn’t matter the source)?

A: “What you wrap around your soul determines your outcome.” Mud Vein, by Tarryn Fisher. I have it tattooed on my arm, till death do us part Tarryn.

Q5: Do you listen to audiobooks? If so, are there any you’d recommend?

A: Yes, but only the past couple of years or so.

For writers, I’d recommend, Save the Cat! Writes a Novel by Jessica Brody and On Writing Memoirs of the Craft by Stephen King.

For readers, I’d recommend, The Sea of Tranquillity by Katja Millay. YOU by Caroline Kepnes. The Ghost Writer by Alessandra Torre. The Wives by Tarryn Fisher. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass.

Q6: How many bookshelves are in your house?

A: Not nearly enough, I have about Sixteen or so. But I also use cupboards and cabinets to accommodate my collection. When I moved to a new house last year, my boxes of books were the heaviest of all the boxes with the exception of furniture and appliances.

Q7: Share something your readers wouldn’t know about you.

A: I have more tattoos than the eye can see and still going strong.  About fourteen, I think!

Q8: Would you rather be in a room full of snakes or a room full of spiders?

A: Spiders!

Q9: What was your dream job when you were younger?

A: Other than being a writer, a Marine Biologist.

Q10: If you could only have one of the four seasons, which would it be?

A: That’s a tough one. It would be between Spring or Autumn… Spring, would have to be Spring.

Leila agreed to participate in a little flash fiction.

This is the cover of your next book, write the opening paragraph…

“Until I met him, I was always a homebody. Travelling was never something I ever thought about doing myself. But he consumed me with thoughts and ideas of hitting the open road. Adventures beyond the mountains, just waiting to be had. He also vowed to love me until death do us part and even after that. But one day when I returned home from work, he was gone. No note, no phone call, no text message. He was gone without a trace. And now, I want to be anywhere but home and the place I feel him the most is on an open road where anything is possible.”
